Promoting effect of admixed CexZr1-xO2 with Cu-ZnO-Al2O3 methanol synthesis catalyst on catalytic performance |

The synthesis of methanol by CO hydrogenation was investigated on Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 (CZA) catalyst admixed with CexZr1-xO2 having a different Ce/(Ce+Zr) weight ratio. Based on the catalytic activity and selectivity to methanol, the optimum composition was found to be around 0.08 of Ce/(Ce+Zr) weight ratio. CZA/Ce0.08Zr0.92O2 catalyst is found to show superior activity to the others because of good dispersion of CuO on the admixed CZA/CexZr1-xO2 catalyst. |
