Hydrotropically Modified Hyaluronic Acid Nanoparticles for Targeted Drug Delivery System |

The therapeutic application of many potential drugs and drug candidates with high biological activities has been limited by their poor water solubility. In this study, we have synthesized hyaluronic acid (HA) derivative bearing hydrotropic moieties, by grafting nicotinamide-based hydrotropic oligomers to HA. The physicochemical properties of the system were investigated using 1H NMR, dynamic light scattering and fluorospectrophotometer. The degree of substitution of the oligomers to HA has been varied and evaluated for aqueous solubility of paclitaxel. This particular system can be useful as the targeted delivery of the poorly water soluble drugs. |
