제목 A Study on the Molecular Sturctures of Crosslinked Poly(γ-glutamic acid) Hydrogels Using Spectroscopic Methods
초록 Poly(γ-glutamic acid)(γ-PGA) is a biodegradable polymer, which has been widely utilized for absorptive material, drug delivery system, etc. It is produced by bacteria 'Bacillus' at its cellular wall. γ-PGA has a good solubility in water and γ-PGA crosslinked by crosslinking agents or γ-irradiation shows a good absorption behavior than before the crosslinking reaction. But it is less soluble in other solvents. These characteristics were considered to result from its particular structure.
In the present work, γ-PGA was prepared by bacteria, then a series of PGA hydrogels were prepared by curing with several types of crosslinked agents. The extent that these hydrogels absorb water is affected significantly by the kinds of the crosslinked structure and the crosslinking density, among others. In order to develop an improved high absorptive PGA hydrogel, their microstructures have to be well characterized. To achieve this, we utilized several spectroscopic techniques including FT-IR and NMR, and the results were correlated with their water absorbing behaviors and apparent features such as revealed under SEM.
