제목 Ag/Ni Co-plating on HCl Removal Efficiency of Activated Carbon Fibers
초록 In this study, ACFs were treated by a Ag/Ni co-plating technique in order to remove HCl gas. The surface properties of the ACFs were investigated by the XRD. N2/77K adsorption isotherm characteristics were determined by BET's equation. Also, HCl removal efficiency was confirmed by a gas detecting tube. From the XRD result, the Ag and Ni metals were introduced on ACF surfaces. The surface characteristics, including the specific surface area, micropore volume, and total pore volume, of the Ag/Ni co-plated ACFs were decreased due to the pore-blocking or pore-filling by Ag/Ni co-plating than those of as-received. However, the Ag/Ni co-plated ACFs largely showed better HCl removal efficiency than that of as-received. It meant that because the amount of Ag plating was fixed, the HCl removal efficiency was basically dependent on the Ni content of the ACFs, due to the catalytic co-reaction of Ag and Ni.
