Electro and pH-responsive transdermal drug delivery of PVA/PAAc/GO nanocomposite hydrogels |

The poly(vinyl alcohol)/poly(acrylic acid)/graphite oxide (GO) nanocomposites were prepared by film casting method for electro and pH-responsive transdermal drug delivery system. The graphite was oxidized with acid for the improved dispersion in the hydrogel. The morphologies of nanocomposite hydrogels were investigated by scanning electron microscope. The dual electro and pH-dependent swelling and releasing properties of hydrogels were investigated in various buffer solutions under electric voltages applied. The electrical conductivities of PVA/PAAc/GO nanocomposite hydrogels were measured by surface resistance analyzer. The electro and pH-responsive transdermal drug delivery characteristics were studied based on the morphology, electrically modulated swelling, and drug releasing behaviors of the nanocomposite hydrogels. |
