제목 | Optimizing Direct Transesterification of Tetraselmis sp. by Reducing Solvent |
초록 | Biodiesel produced from microalgae is an alternative for petroleum diesel. But the cost of biodiesel production is still expensive compare to that of petroleum diesel. In this study, we optimize direct-transesterification process that seems to be the most suitable method for biodiesel production process. In order to optimize process, reaction conditions wer as follows: methanol to dry biomass ratio of 2.5 to 10, catalyst concentration of 3 to 15%, temperature of 80℃ and reaction time of 5h. As a result, the best condition of cost reduction was attained with a methanol/dry biomass ratio of 5 ml/g, sulfuric acid concentration of 9% (v/v). In these condition we attained 88% FAME yield.
