The shape-controlled polyaniline (PANI) nanoparticles with different aspect ratios (2.1-5.35) were synthesized by chemical oxidation polymerization. The shape dependent totoxicity of PANI nanoparticles were investigated by cell viability test, cytotoxicity test, reactive oxygen species generation, and apoptosis/necrosis observation method. Furthermore, the influence of the shape change, incubation time, and concentration of PANI nanoparticles had been examined. The PANI nanoparticles show different toxicity towards the shape of PANI nanoparticles. By this result, we could suggest new understanding of shape-controlled toxicity of PANI nanoparticles. |
