Silver nanoparticles with controlled shape, size, structure, and morphology have been intensively studied for several decades because of their potential in applications such as catalysts, localized surface Plasmon Raman scattering (LSPR) sensors, bio-imaging sensors, and templates for hollow metal structures. Therefore, synthetic methods for silver nanospheres, nanocubes, nanobars, nanoplates, and nanowires have been disclosed until now. Especially, the uniform silver nanocubes are of great interest because they can be used as building block for self-assembly and theragnosys drug container by templating its structure with inert metal. However, scalable synthesis of uniform silver nanocubes has not been developed because synthetic method by homogeneous nucleation based polyol process has poor yield and reproducibility. Here, we developed scalable synthetic method for uniform silver nanocubes by heterogeneous nucleation and disassembly process. |
