제목 Near-infrared light activated upconversion nanoparticles for targeted photodynamic therapy
초록 In recent years, photodynamic therapy (PDT) is an emerging modality for the treatment of cancer due to their fewer side effect and toxicity than chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Rare-earth-doped upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) have great potential for near-infrared (NIR) light activated PDT applications. PDT based on UCNPs can generate singlet oxygen, via the excitation of a photosensitizer (PS) using NIR irradiation which has deep penetration depth and low toxicity in tissue. In this study, several core-shell structured UCNPs were prepared by thermal decomposition method. The surface modification of UCNPs was conducted for PDT and bioimaging applications. In addition, PDT effects of the UCNPs-based nanocarrier were investigated using two types of cancer cell lines.
