Development of membrane process to separate of landfill gas for vehicle fuels |

The recovered CH4 can be used as valuable fuels if CO2 and other impurities reduced properly. The objectives of this study are fabrication of a PES(polyethersulfone) hollow fiber membrane by dry-wet spinning and development of a membrane purification process to produce a vehicle fuel from landfill biogas. Separation properties of PES hollow fiber membrane were observed selectivity of O2/N2 above 5, CO2/CH4 46, respectively and permeability of CO2 about 100GPU. CH4 concentration and recovery were obtained 97%, 95% in 2-stage process and 97%, 68% in 1-stage process, respectively, under 100L/min, 25℃ and 20atm conditions. |
