제목 Reduction and thermo-sensitive hydrogel consisting of poly (hydroxyethyl acrylate and methyl methacrylate) crosslinked with hydroxyethyl disulfide-bis-glycidyl ether
초록 Reduction and thermo-sensitive gels were produced using a disulfide cross-linker called hydroxyethyl disulfide-bis-glycidyl ether (HDBGE) by crosslinking poly(hydroxyethyl acrylate and methyl methacrylate) (poly(HEA and MMA)). Poly(HEA and MMA) revealed lower critical solution temperature (LCST) attributes while the MMA content was 7.4 and 8.3 mole %. Through Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), the disulfide bond-cross-linked copolymers (e.g. the gels) indicated that the mass ratio of the copolymer to the disulfide cross-linker was about 90:10. Raman spectroscopy exhibited that the copolymer chains of the gels was crosslinked by disulfide bond. The contents in the gels were released in accordance with dithiothreitol (DOT) concentration. The reducing agent, DOT can break down the disulfide bond of HDBGE, resulting in a promoted release. The gels could be applied as a drug carrier that can release its payload in response to alteration in redox potential and temperature.
