Neurogenesis of Bone Marrow Stromal Cells using Controlled Release of β-mercaptoethanol from Poly(L-lactide-co-glycolide)(PLGA) films. |

Bone marrow stromal cells(BMSCs) can be differentiated into chondrocytes, osteocytes, neuronal cells under the controlling of culture condition. PLGA has been widely used as biocompatible scaffolds material to regenerate nerve tissue. PLGA film was fabricated to release β-mercaptoehanol(BME) for purpose of neurogenesis of BMSCs. BME/PLGA film were manufactured as the concentrations of 0, 200, 400 and 600μM of BME.This result suggests that BME of 600μM loaded PLGA film revealed low cell viability in the results of WST. Morphology of BMSCs changed like a neural cell in BME of 200, 400μM loaded PLGA film. It can be concluded that the controlled release of BME from BME loaded PLGA film might be differentiated BMSCs to neuronal cells due to the diffusion of BME and biodegradation of PLGA. This study suggested that BME/PLGA film is useful neuronal growth culture of BMSCs for the application of neuronal regenerative medicine.This research was supported by WCU(R31-20029) and SCRC (SC4110). |
