Conjugated polymers (CPs) are widely used as active materials in electronic devices. These device performances, such as charge transport properties and light harvesting abilities, can be improved through molecular design of CPs, such as tuning the conformation of polymer backbone and incorporating functional moieties to the side chains. Phenanthrenes, one of the moieties of CPs, have superior intermolecular π–π stacking due to planar structures. In this study, phenanthrenes derivatives, named PSO, including thiadiazole and dioxide are synthesized to introduce sulfone (S=O) and N atom with excellent charge transport properties and separation into polymer backbones. Finally, the novel CP containing PSO was polymerized with diethylene glycol branched fluorene by Suzuki coupling. The structural, electrochemical and optical properties of the CP are evaluated by GPC, NMR, TGA, CV and UV-vis spectroscopy. In this presentation, we will discuss optoelectronic application using the novel CP. |
