제목 Magnetic carbonyl iron particle dispersed in PIB/PB and its magnetorheological property
초록 Magnetorheological (MR) fuild is regarded as a promising smart material that has mechanical properties which can be controlled by an applying external magnetic field. In this study, we prepared MR viscoelastic samples consisting of soft magnetic CI micronsized particles and highly elastic polyisobutylene (PIB)/ polybutene (PB) medium matrix. The PIB/ PB solution is known as a Boger fluid, in which the PIB/PB is similar to MR elastomer matrix as a highly elastic liquid. The MR properties of CI-PIB/PB based MR elastic fluid is studied via a rheometer with an oscillation test mode under applied magnetic field. Sedimentation of CI particles is also observed by putting the sample on the plat table for 1week. Through the experiment, we note that the PIB/PB viscoelastic matrix not only helps CI particles to form stable chains in magnetic field but also improves sedimentation drawback which is a problem of typical MR fluids.
