Polymer nanoparticles have attracted the interest of many research groups due to their prominent contribution in a wide range of applications such as electronics, conducting materials, photonics, and medicine during the last decade. Here we report a facile approach to prepare poly(vinylpyrrolidone) nanoparticles by employing magnetic stirring under different conditions. The polymer nanoparticles were characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, DLS, TEM, SEM, TGA, and DSC. In addition, molecular modeling studies were conducted. The particle size could be easily and precisely controlled by varying different reaction parameters. The reported technique has the potential to be useful in the field of polymer nanotechnology. |
