The development of medical and pharmaceutical technology dramatically increased the life span of human while increasing bone-related disease due to aging and accidents. In this study, using a synthetic polymer, poly(lactide-co-caprolacton) (PLCL), biodegradable porous three-dimensional scaffolds were developed as a bone substitute for acceleration of bone regeneration. The scaffolds were fabricated by sintering polymeric microspheres containing bioactive agent. Our result confirmed that the scaffold has excellent biocompatibility and high bone conductivity and, therefore, it is believed that the scaffolds developed in this study are potentially applied for bone tissue regeneration. |
