Effect of phenyl substitution on electrochemically mediated dechlorination of allyl chloride by Co(I)(bipyridine) in aqueous CTAB solutions |
초록 |
Allyl chloride (AC) and its derivatives are prominent environmental contaminants. This work reports electrocatalytic reductive dechlorination of a phenyl-substituted allyl chloride derivative, cinnamyl chloride (CiC), by electrogenerated [Co(I)(bpy)3]+ (where bpy = 2,2’-bipyridine) in environmentally benign CTAB aqueous solutions to examine the effects of phenyl substitution on the dechlorination reaction. Cyclic voltammetry over a range of scan rates and CiC concentrations identified the rate limiting mechanism for Co(I)-catalyzed CiC dechlorination, and estimated the homogeneous electron-transfer rate constant (kcat). |
