제목 Polymer coating onto hydroxyl functionalized polymer particles by using Ce(IV) redox initiator
초록 Butyl methyacrylate(BMA) and methyl methacylate(MMA) mixture was coated onto the hydroxyl functionalized polymer particles. Firstly, Monodisperse, crosslinked polystyrene(PS) seed particles were produced by dispersion copolymerization with ease. And then, seeded polymerization was employed to prepare the hydroxyl functionalized polymer particles through the swelling of second monomer mixture; divinylbenzene(DVB) and hydroxyethyl methlacrylate(HEMA) into the seed particles. Finally, OH functionalized polymer particles were coated with MMA and BMA by grafting copolymerization. In this study, Ce(IV) redox initiator in HNO3 solution was used to grafting copolymerization. Polymer particles for high temperature were achieved by using large amount of DVB as a crosslinker, and Tg of polymer particles cuuld be changed by surface coated materials. Morphology and OH functional group of manufactured polymer particles were ascertained by means of scanning electron microscope(SEM) and FT-IR measurement, respectively. Tg of polymer particles were characterized by thermal analysis.
