Stretchable acrylate-based pressure-sensitive adhesives with high adhesion performance, optical clarity, and metal corrosion resistance |

The recent progress of flexible/foldable display devices derives the need for suitable materials and technology to satisfy their designed functions. However, despite the emerging flexible/stretchable electronic components such as electrodes and backplanes, adhesive materials for their assembly still remain a challenge. Herein, we synthesized the acrylic acid (AA)-incorporated pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) and reported the compositional effect of AA on their adhesion performance. The stretchability of synthesized PSAs was evaluated by the strain-dependent recovery: the pre-strain strategy enables their instantaneous reversibility at 25% of the total strain. Furthermore, high optical clarity and remarkable metal corrosion resistance was exhibited by synthesized PSAs. Thus, the findings based on this study provide useful guidance for designing advanced PSAs in future display applications. |
