제목 Chemical Stability in Olefin Facilitated Transport Membrane for Acetylene
초록 Facilitated transport membranes based on silver ions and metallic silver nanoparticles as an olefin carrier have been paid much attention to separate olefin from its mixtures with paraffin. It has been known that acetylene is present in many petrochemical feed stocks as an impurity and it may react with silver compounds to from silver acetylide, a very sensitive compound. Formation of silver acetylide was investigated in aqueous and gaseous environments. When acetylene was bubbled through aqueous silver nitrate solution, silver acetylide was formed immediately and precipitated. The same procedure was also carried out with silver nanoparticles activated by electron acceptor such as p-benzoquinone (p-BQ) and 7,7,8,8-Tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) to check the formation silver acetylide. The results showed that silver acetylide was not formed for surface-activated metallic silver nanoparticles.
