제목 Biobased nanocomposites from epoxidized soybean oil and organically modified clay
초록 Biobased nanocomposites were prepared from acrylated epoxidized soybean oil and an organically modified montmorillonite by UV irradiation. Butyl acrylate was added as a reactive monomer to this system. Microstructures of the films were characterized by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. Physical properties were examined by tensile test, dynamic mechanical analysis, and thermogravimetric analysis. It was found that the clays are dispersed at nanometer scale in matrix polymer and caused a great improvement in thermal and mechanical properties at only 5phr clay content with retaining its optical transparency. Glass transition temperature of this system was highly related to the content of reactive monomer. The nanoclay reinforced bionanocomposites are attractive as alternatives to synthetic UV curable resins.
