Typical polyurethanes are prone to poor thermal stability. One accepted method to improve the thermal stability is to introduce imide as hard domain in PUs. So we introduced imide group in hard domain by H12MDI and PMDA where soft segment from PTMG, H12MDI and DMBA. NCO-terminated PU prepolymers are encapped by HEA and dispersed in water, followed by UV cure to obtain films. Thermal properties (TGA), tensile properties (UTM) and thermal, dynamic mechanical properties (DMTA) measurements of UV-cured PUD films showed significantly improved thermal stability upon introducing imide linkages. |
