Recently, the growing environmental concerns for global warming and climate change have motivated research activities, such as separation, capture and storage of green house gases, particularly CO2, which will be increasingly important in the future world economy. We have prepared microporous carbons using chitosan with steam activation. The morphological properties were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The specific surface area and micropore volume were analyzed by N2/ 77 K adsorption-desorption isotherms. The CO2 adsorption capacities were measured by TGA method at specific condition. From the results, we had confirmed that the CO2 adsorption capacity was strongly influenced by the certain micropore sizes. |
