Fibrous structures of carbon-based materials have been fabricated by the strain-driven self-rolling method. The strain-driven self-rolling is an advanced engineering strategy for fabricating micro- and nano- tubular structures of different sizes and compositions. Multicomponent assembly provides a route to unique combination of desired electronic, biological and mechanical properties that are often not available in single-component materials. Here, we fabricated macroscopic fibers of carbon materials with soft and elastic protein layers based on self-rolling phenomena. The composite structures of carbon nano materials and extracellular matrix (ECM) protein will provide unique environment for cell and tissue engineering. Also, after removing proteins, we could obtain macroscopic fine fiber structures of several carbon materials. This approach is promising for the development of novel structures of macroscopic carbon fabrics. |
