DPP-based copolymers by replacing the thiophenes with thieno[3,2-b]thiophene units also promote the polymer coplanarity and a more delocalized HOMO distribution along the backbone, which can be expected to enhance intermolecular charge-carrier hopping. However, these copolymers will become more rigid in the case of using the π-extended conjugation of the donor. Thus, the corresponding copolymer will become poorly soluble or even insoluble in organic solvents, which will affect molecular weight and film-forming capability, that finally hampers the OTFT performance. In this study, to overcome those shortcomings, we synthesized new highly π-extend conjugated copolymers as structural isomers using the DPP flanked with thiophene or thienothiophene. Also we were investigated their intrinsic/extrinsic material properties, optical, electrochemical properties and their semiconducting property. |
