Recently, extensive investigations on design and synthesis of donor-acceptor (D-A) conjugated small molecules have displayed promising characteristics in organic photovoltaics. Small molecules are easier to control than polymers in terms of synthesis and purification. Among them, A1-D-A2-D-A1 conjugated structure has been researched as highly efficient approach to improve the device performance. Then, we successfully synthesized three conjugated small molecules containing diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) and three different acceptors. These three small molecules have different optical and crystalline properties with the acceptors at molecular end. Also we studied morphologies by using atomic force microscopy (AFM) for explaining device performance. Therefore, we investigated DPP-based small molecules’ organic photovoltaic performances depending on the molecular structures. |
