Glass fiber reinforced PET(GF-PET) composite has excellent heat resistance and strength, so it has been used as automotive and electronics/electrical component materials widely. However, injection molded products of GF-PET composite have problems that are unstable surface appearance and insufficient gloss. To resolve these problems, some methods are proposed - enhancing compatibility between GF and PET, increasing crystallinity of the PET. In this study, we observed the crystallization rate and change in the surface properties of the material via isothermal and non-isothermal crystallization of GF-PET composite. We also select optimal conditions(mold temperature, cooling time, etc.) for injection in order to get a GF-PET product with outstanding gloss. GF-PET composite was investigated by DSC and AFM. |
