Environmentally friendly and cost-effective waterborne polyurethanes (WPUs) have been recently investigated as substitute materials for conventional polyurethanes soluble in highly polar organic solvents such as NMP, DMF, THF, etc. In this study, to obtain eco-friendly polyurethanes with high performance in electrical properties, WPU-based composite films reinforced with silver nanowire (AgNW) were fabricated by solution casting. For the purpose, an WPU was synthesized by using poly(propylene glycol), isophorone diisocyanate, 2,2-dimethylolpropionic acid, and 1,4-butanediol. The structural features, electrical conductivity, and electrical heating performance of the composite films were characterized and the results were discussed in terms of the AgNW content. In addition, the thermal and dynamic mechanical properties of the composite films were analyzed. |
