Carbon allotropes materials such as graphene, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are often used as fillers to improve the mechanical properties of polymeric materials. Furthermore, carbon allotropes have excellent thermal/electrical conductivity that polymer materials do not have, so many researchers are trying to apply these properties to polymer materials for actuators, sensors, or other applications. However, due to the strong van der Waals force and interference such as the π-π interaction of carbon allotropes, it is difficult to prepare a polymer composite material containing a high concentration of carbon fillers. In this study, a high-concentration graphene or CNT composite having self-healing capability was prepared through an in situ polymerization process.
