제목 | Comparison of enzymatic and biomimic polymerization of phenolic biomonomer derived from cashew nut shell liquid |
초록 | Cardanol, a major component obtained by thermal treatment of cashew nut shell liquid, is a phenol derivative mainly having a C15 unsaturated hydrocarbon chain with 1-3 double bonds at the m-position. Phenolic resins from cardanol and formaldehyde are industrially produced as the prepolymer of coating materials with high gloss surface mainly for indoor use. However, resins containing formaldehyde have much concern about the toxic nature of formaldehyde in their manufacture and use. The oxidative polymerization of cardanol was performed using peroxidase or Fe-salen as catalyst. Under appropriate reaction conditions, an oily soluble polymer was obtained in high yields. From NMR and FT-IR analysis of the product polymer, it was found that the unsaturated group was not reacted during the peroxidase polymerization, but the unsaturated moiety was reacted during the Fe-salen polymerization. |
