제목 Preparation and application of poly(acrylic acid) hydrogel having electrochemical properties for artificial muscle
초록 Hydrogel were prepared by free-radical polymerization method using electroactive polymer (EAP). Hydrogel consisted of poly(acrylic acid) (PAAc) as EAP and was cross-linked with ethylene glycol dimethacylate. The AAc solution was added to another aqueous solution containing poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) in order to exhibit better overall mechanical properties. The PVA/PAAc hydrogel was investigated by SEM, FT-IR, and UTM. The bending behavior of the hydrogels varied depending on the pH of buffer solutions. The PVA/PAAc hydrogel bent toward the anode in pH over 4.7 and bent toward the cathode in pH below 4.7. The PVA/PAAc hydrogel was applied as actuator especially in the artificial muscle.
