Fabrication of Hyaluronic acid-Gelatin/Biphasis Calcium Phosphate scaffold for bone tissue engineering application |

In order to develop a proper scaffold for bone tissue engineering, a hyaluronic acid (HyA) – Gelatin (Gel) hydrogel and HyA-Gel hydrogel loaded in Biphasic Calcium Phosphate (BCP) were prepared. BCP scaffold was formed by sponge replica method with the compressive strength marked 1.3 MPa. The HyA-Gel hydrogel in their ratio of 15:85 was loaded in sponge BCP for the purpose of obtaining a biocompatibility and harder scaffold. An in vitro study of HyA-Gel hydrogel and HyA-Gel/BCP scaffold were conducted. To assay the cytocompatibility and cell behavior on the HyA-Gel hydrogel and HyA-Gel/BCP scaffold, cell attachment and spreading of osteoblast cell MG-63 seeded on the scaffolds were studied. Our results provide a novel and simple method to obtain an adequate scaffold for osteoblast cells and indicate that HyA-Gel hydrogel and HyA-Gel/BCP scaffold could be a good candidate for bone tissue engineering scaffolds, because it has an excellent cell attachment and spreading for MG-63cell. |
