Two-dimensional layered MoO3 material has been received much attention due to its high capacity and electrochemical properties. It is well-known that these properties become much stronger when the thickness is reduced to a single or few-layer. Although many kinds of the method to make few-layered MoO3 have been proposed, earlier methods have been in trouble to control the thickness. In this work, we newly proposed a method to exfoliate layered-bulk MoO3 through the growth of gold nanoparticles in interlayer space. Firstly, we conducted an experiment to find the optimal condition of intercalation of Au precursor via controlling the temperature, time and composition of solvents. Next, we pursued the growth of gold nanoparticles by reduction of Au precursor under the optimal intercalation condition. The few-layered MoO3 were characterized by XRD, TEM, and UV-Vis spectrometer. As a consequence, we successfully observed the MoO3 nanosheets exfoliated decorated with gold nanoparticles. |
