제목 Photoautotrophic cultivation of microalgae in water-in-oil microdroplet with PDMS-based microfluidic device
초록 Microdroplet-based microfluidics utilizing two immiscible aqueous and oil phases has been considered as an optimized analysis platform for analysis of cell kinetics. The microdroplets can be used to analyze the growth kinetics of cells in single cell level. We have encapsulated microalgal cells into the microdroplets and reinjected the microdroplets into another microfluidic chamber containing micropillar arrays. During the growth of microalgal cell, high humidity was maintained for long term storage of aqueous microdroplets. Finally, we could analyze the photoautotrophic growth of microalgal cells under various conditions such as CO2 concentrations and light intensities.
