제목 ANTI-IGG-ANCHORED LIQUID CRYSTAL MICRODROPLETS FOR LABEL FREE DETECTION OF IGG
초록 The orientational variation of liquid crystal(LC) molecules in LC microdroplets in response to IgG antigen(IgG) has been utilized to develop an ultra-sensitive biosensor for fast and label-free detection of IgG in biological matrices. In order to prepare the LC microdroplet-based biosensor, 4-cyano-4′-pentyl biphenyl(5CB) LC microdroplets anchored to anti-IgG antibody(AIgG) were prepared using sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) as a mediator and amphiphilic poly(styrene-b-acrylic acid)(PS-b-PA) as a modifier of the LC/water interface. The microdroplets were useful for the detection of IgG in a solution containing FBS or blood plasma. LC microdroplets were fabricated with different amounts of AIgG in the present study. results indicate that AIgG is sufficient for LC microdroplet-based sensing system for the detection of IgG in media. IgG immunoassay utilizing the response of LC microdroplets was found to be useful for developing biosensors for detection of pathogens in biological fluids.
