제목 | Facile synthesis of polyfunctionalized m-terphenyl derivatives via mild-base benzannulation for UV filter applications |
초록 | Terphenyls are ubiquitous in nature and possess a plethora of biological activities. In addition, their conjugated π-systems result in unique electronic and optical properties employed in wide range of organic materials. Herein, we report a transition-metal-free benzannulation to access polyfunctionalized m-terphenyls starting from 3-formylchromones and 1,3-diaryl-2-propanones. This approach proceeds via domino Knoevenagel/intramolecular Michael addition/ring opening/aromatization.
