제목 The Liquid Crystal Alignment using Photo-degradation of Strongly Rubbed Main Chain Type Polyimide
초록 Photo-degradation polyimide film are exposed to linearly polarized 254nm UV. After irradiation, polyimide film gives LC alignment perpendicular to polarization direction of the UV irradiation. To obtain a good LC alignment, polarized and unpolarized UV is exposed on rubbed polyimide film. LC aligning direction is measured by polar diagram. Figure shows the dichroic ratio of LC cell increase with irradiation time until 40min. Parallel direction of polarized UV irradiation on rubbed polyimide film has a higher dichroic ratio compared to perpendicular direction of polarized UV. LC cell of unpolarized UV irradiation film has highest dichroic ratio in 20min.
