The microcapsule-type electrophoretic display consists of millions of tiny microcapsules; each one containing charged particles that react to an external electric field to form an image. These particles are dispersed in a suspending fluid and then would be encapsulated into microcapsules. In this study, titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles were encapsulated with polystyrene (PS)-based copolymeric materials for electrophoretic display application. Characteristics of polymer coated TiO2 nanoparticles such as density, chemical structure, particle size, shape, and morphology are examined by FT-IR, a thermogravimetric analysis, a particle size analysis, and SEM respectively. Furthermore, electrophoretic mobility of the fabricated nanoparticles with charge control agent is determined zeta potential measurement. |
