Since last two decades there has been a fast growing interest in electroactive polymers as a next generation material for sensors, transducers, micro air vehicles, flat-panel speakers, haptic devices, and artificial muscles. In this presentation, we will discuss about two issues on the electroactive dielectric polymers. One is about the precise strain measurement. The true strain measurement is essential to understand their actuation mechanism. Unfortunately, the flexure movement of the electroactive polymers disturbed the true strain measurement. The other issue is to decrease the operational voltage. The high performance was achieved at very high electric field, which is the biggest obstacle for the real application. In this presentation, many multiphased polymer systems will be presented to resolve the problem. |
