A New Approach for Biophotonic π-Organic Semiconductor Particles |

In order to advance the emission properties of organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), organometallic complexes were used as the electron-transport layer and also as the host for the emitter layer. Since the pioneering report of Tang and Van Slyke in 1987, Alq3 stands as one of the most successful materials used in OLEDs. Accompanied by growing nanotechnology, more effort was put into fabricating and controlling Alq3 nanostructures and their application. To our best knowledge, it’s the first report on Alq3 complex preparing by the guidance of biomolecules such as DNA. This report opens up new opportunities of organometallic material, one of the most widely used OLED materials, enabling biological recognition. |
