제목 Free radical copolymerization of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate terminatedpoly(L-lactide) with butyl acrylate
초록 Although poly(L-lactide) (PLLA) is an important biodegradable and biomass-based polymer, its physical properties need to be improved. The physical properties of PLLA could be modified by altering the chemical structure of PLLA. Here, PLLA was copolymerized with butyl acrylate. Free radical copolymerization of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate terminated poly(L-lactide) (HEMA-PLLA) with butyl acrylate in N,N’-dimethylformamide solution using 2,2’-azobisisobutyronitrile as initiator was carried out at 80 oC. HEMA-PLLA macromonomers were synthesized by ring-opening polymerization of L-lactide with 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate. The structure of the copolymer was confirmed by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). In addition, the thermal and mechanical properties of the copolymer were analyzed.
