The catalytic activity of Pd/sol-gel alumina catalyst for catalytic combustion ofmethane have been investigated. The effects of temperature on performance of catalystsand deactivation of catalyst based on supports at 500℃ were discussed. No effect ofsol-gel alumina as a support on improving catalytic activity of methane combustion wasfound. sol-gel alumina catalyst that impregnated 0.5wt% Pd after including 0.5wt% Pdwhen be prepared by sol-gel method showed less activity than 1wt% Pd impregnatedover sol-gel alumina in combustion catalyst. Deactivation of catalysts in the methanecombustion reaction were found reversible but catalytic activity were decreased withtime, eventually.
