제목 | High-level production of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) by amplifying glycolytic pathway enzymes in recombinant Escherichia coli |
초록 | Since the production cost of poly(3-hydroxyalkanoates) [PHAs] is mainly composed of the cost of carbon source, it is important to produce PHAs with high yield on carbon source to reduce production cost of PHAs [1]. Escherichia coli strain has been most promising host strain for the efficient production of PHAs. Recent studies on the biosynthesis of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) [P(3HB)] in E. coli have revealed that the level of acetyl-CoA and NADPH is the most important factor determining yield of P(3HB) on carbon source [2]. E. coli has been metabolically engineered to make more acetyl-CoAs available for the P(3HB). In this study, we report that the amplification of glycolytic pathway enzymes support the efficient production of P(3HB) in recombinant E. coli.
