제목 | Transmission Mode Holographic PDLC Gratings Based on Thiol-PUA Photopolymerization |
초록 | When multifunctional acrylate system is being used as polymer matrix for HPDLC, polymerization continues after grating formation due to early gelation and subsequent vitrification, called dark reaction. This leads to increase in switching field and asymmetric shrinkage within film. So, we used thiol-PUA(polyurethane acrylate) system with pentaerythritol tetrakis (3-mercaptopropionate)(PETMP) and polyurethane acrylate(PUA) to reduce the dark reaction and nonuniform shrinkage of polymer matrix. The morphology of the gratings was analyzed by using scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and atomic force microscopy(AFM), and the storage moduli of thiol-PUA films by dynamic mechanical thermal analysis(DMTA). It was founded that thiol-PUA system showed lower switching voltage and higher aging stability compared with multifunctional acrylate system. HPDLC based thiol-PUA system also showed high diffraction efficiency and good grating formation. |
