Conducting polymers are considered as an important class of materials because of the prospect of their application in various electronic devices such as chemical sensors, electrochromic displays, light emitting diodes, etc. Among conducting polymers, polyaniline (PANI)has become one of the most attractive and thoroughly studied materials owing to its ease of synthesis, existence in a variety of forms in oxidation states, remarkable environmental stability and high conductivity. In our investigation we introduce the facile fabrication of nano-sized and mono dispersed PANI spheres using microemulsion polymerization at a relatively low temperature condition. The conductivity of these materials was measured and showed nearly an order of magnitude higher than the reported conductivity of HCl-doped PANI. |
