We report on the enhanced electric conductivity of polyaniline (PANI) by a low magnetic field. Under magnetic field, PANI films based on self-stabilized dispersion polymerization (SSDP) exhibit larger electric conductivity compared with PANI samples without magnetic field. Moreover, the influence of additional magnetic field on electrical conductivity (i.e. conductivity enhancement) is higher in PANI prepared by SSDP than prepared by conventional synthetic method. It is attributed to the micro-chemical structure of PANI including different degree of ortho-linked defects. In addition, PANI-SSDP samples treated with magnetic field show strong anisotropy of electric conductivity depending on the direction of applied magnetic field, which is related to ππ interchain stacking and orientation of polyaniline by additional magnetic field. |
