Structure and Properties of Polypropylene/organoclay Nanocomposite |

The commercial importance of polypropylene materials has been driving the investigation of polypropylene based composites with various fillers. The organolcay-reinforced polymers are of great interest, due to their enhanced properties. In this study, the composites based on polypropylene and the modified organoclays with various silanes were fabricated and characterized. The modified organoclays with silanes were characterized by X-ray diffraction and elemental analysis. The microstructure and mechanical properties of polypropylene nanocomposites were evaluated and the effects of the interfacial interactions were investigated. |
