In our previous work, we reported the novel preparation of silica shell on polystyrene (PS) microspheres synthesized via dispersion polymerization. In this work we investigated the effects of the initial concentration of tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS), ammonia solution and the stabilizer’s mocular weight which was introduced in dispersion polymerization for the synthesis of PS seed microspheres. In addition, the thickness and structure of the silica shell will be invesed under various conditions. |
