Organic solar cells (OSCs) have attracted much attention due to light weight, flexibility, and low fabrication cost. The bulk heterojunction (BHJ) OSCs, based on blends of p-type conjugated polymers and fullerene derivatives, have become one of the promising device structures. Thieno[3,4-b]thiophene (TT) is the one of the interesting materials due to interesting optical and electrical properties. We successfully synthesized a series of donor-acceptor (D-A) polymers containing thieno[3,4-b]thiophenes as a pi-bridege between the electron donor and acceptor segments. The thermal, optical, and electrochemical properties of the synthesized polymers were investigated by using TGA, UV-vis spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry. The device performances of BHJ OSCs with new p-type polymers and PCBM will be presented. |
