The quantum dot (QD) has attracted much attention due to its outstanding optical and electrical properties. For practical applications, stability of quantum dot against prolonged exposure to humidity and high temperature should be guaranteed, which are closely related to encapsulation from moisture, heat, and radiation and dispersion in the matrix. Here we encapsulated CdSe/ZnS QD with random copolymer and found that it showed good dispersibility in epoxy acrylate resin and silicone rubber. After prolonged exposure to hot and humid environments, its stability was comparable to commercial inorganic yellow phosphor (YAG:Ce) for white LED. The encapsulation was studied using dynamic light scattering (DLS), SEM, and TEM. Luminance, CRI, and CCT of QD composite were also measured. |
